Ingredients

Apple Filling:

  • 8 medium Apples peeled & cut into 1" chunks, ½" thick
  • 100g (½ c) Dark Brown Sugar
  • 30g (¼ c) All Purpose Flour
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • ½ tsp Nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp Clove
  • ¼ tsp Salt

Brown Sugar Crumble

  • 120g (1 c) All Purpose Flour
  • 150g (¾ c) Dark Brown Sugar
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 113g (½ c) Vegan Butter cold
  • Vegan Vanilla Ice Cream & Caramel Sauce for serving

Instructions

  • Prepare your space: Preheat oven to 350℉. Lightly grease a 9x13" or a 4 qt baking dish. Use glass or ceramic, not metal.
  • Apple Filling: Mix and toss together all filling ingredients in a large bowl or right in the baking dish. Make sure apple chunks are all coated with the brown sugar spice mixture. Spread out into an even layer.
  • Brown Sugar Crumble: Whisk together the flour, brown sugar and cinnamon in a medium bowl.
  • Cut in the cold, vegan butter into the dry ingredients with a pastry cutter or fork, until very crumbly.
  • Sprinkle crumble over the top of the apple filling. Bake for 50-55 minutes or until golden brown and filling is bubbling.
  • Cool about 10 minutes before serving. Serve warm with vegan vanilla ice cream and vegan caramel sauce (optional).
  • Store covered in the fridge for up to 5 days.
